Growing up around the world of oral surgery, Dr. S. Clint Hudson always had a strong connection to the field. His uncle, a retired oral surgeon, gave him an early understanding of the profession's impact, but it was not until college that Dr. Hudson discovered his true passion for the specialty. Initially planning a career in anesthesiology, he shifted paths during dental school after spending a summer working alongside oral surgeons. The balance of medicine and dentistry, combined with the opportunity to work in both clinical and hospital settings, made oral surgery the right fit. Today, Dr. Hudson is proud to continue serving patients in and around Huntsville, AL, providing an elevated standard of surgical care with a straightforward, honest approach. His philosophy is simple: treat every patient the same way he would treat his own family.
After earning his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Hudson completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Wanting a broader foundation to better care for patients with complex needs, he continued on to earn his Medical Degree (MD) at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He also completed a rigorous oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Louisville, where he gained advanced experience in surgical procedures and anesthesia care.
Dr. Hudson is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains active membership in several professional organizations, including the Madison County Dental Society and the Madison County Medical Society. His education and certification give patients confidence that they are receiving knowledgeable, comprehensive care at every stage of treatment.
Away from surgery, Dr. Hudson enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hunting ducks and white-tail deer. Summer weekends often find him boating or enjoying water sports, and when winter comes around, he takes every chance he gets to snow ski out west. Dr. Hudson shares his outdoor adventures with his Labrador retriever and looks forward to passing down his love of hunting to his young son as he grows. His time outside the office reflects the same values he brings to his practice: focus, patience, and a genuine love of connecting with others.

I hardly write reviews for places but I would love to say that if you need your wisdom teeth out and you’re an anxious person, this is the place to go. The doctor was extremely nice and answered all of my questions and even prescribed me medication to take before the procedure so I could feel relaxed when I came in. When I walked into my room today the nurse was very sweet and walked me through the steps as she attached the monitors and iv. If you’re afraid of needles, I promise you the iv insertion did not hurt at all! It was just a very slight pinch. If you’ve never been put under before and you need to get your wisdom teeth removed, this is the place to do it! Thank you guys so much for your kindness!
Dr. Hudson was very thorough, kind and has a great bedside manner. He and his staff are excellent. Our appointment was so efficient and his staff was gracious. Highly recommend!

I was referred to Doctor Hudson by my dentist. My appointment was set quickly 2 days. Dr Hudson met with me for molar extraction. They handled my insurance and gave me the breakdown that day by email. He scheduled the procedure within two days I was sedated and extraction took 30 minutes . Staff were professional and friendly. I will use him if needed in the future.
