About S. Clint Hudson, DMD, MD
Dr. Hudson’s uncle is a retired oral surgeon, so he knew a lot about the field growing up. Initially, Dr. Hudson wanted to become an anesthesiologist but was redirected to dental school. After working for oral surgeons during the summer between his freshman and sophomore year, he fell in love with oral surgery. It is the perfect mix of medicine and dentistry, and he enjoys being a part of the dental community while working in hospitals alongside medical staff.
While Dr. Hudson was completing his dental degree, his uncle was still practicing in Huntsville. He planned on working alongside his uncle throughout residency, but during the fifth year, another dentist in town retired and he bought his practice. Now, Dr. Hudson continues to provide the patients of Huntsville with excellent care and results and builds on his reputation as a trusted and skilled surgical professional. His philosophy of care involves treating patients with honesty and being upfront, providing the same care as if they were his mother.
Education & Residency
Dr. Hudson completed his undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He attended dental school at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. To further his education, Dr. Hudson earned his Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
He later completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the University of Louisville, where he gained hands-on training in a surgical setting. During this time, he learned how to safely administer all forms of anesthesia and monitor patients for their health and safety throughout a surgical procedure.
Certifications
Dr. Hudson is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He is also a member of several other professional organizations, including the Madison County Dental Society, Madison County Medical Society, and the UAB School of Dentistry Alumni Association.
Hobbies & Interests
Raised a hunter, Dr. Hudson enjoys hunting duck and white tail deer. In the summer, he enjoys boating and water sports, especially snow skiing out west. He has a labrador to accompany him on his adventures and a son who he is excited to get into duck hunting.
